Debunking The HCG Diet Haters #1: Protein Scare

Time to debunk another one of the HCG Diet Haters favorite complaint about the HCG Diet Drops program. This is a fun one because as usual, those that are the naysayers rarely know what they are talking about (this goes for doctors as well which is slightly depressing, but becoming more and more understood by the general public; hence, why alternative medicine is being sought after more than ever before). Let’s dive into it…

For those who don’t study nutrition and the human body regularly, which would include most all of the people on earth minus me, the crazy one; you most likely do not understand the amount of protein the human body really needs. In fact, most people do not even know why protein is important, but as a society we are mass marketed protein products and supplements.

Let’s start with just a simple explanation of what protein is for. Protein is required by the body for the growth, maintenance and repair of all cells. Protein is a major component of all muscles, tissues and organs and is vital for practically every process that occurs within the body such as metabolism, digestion and the transportation of nutrients and oxygen in the blood. It is also necessary for the production of antibodies, which fight against infection and illness.

How much protein do we need in our diet? Let’s see here, the absolute most a human will ever grow in their life in a set amount of time is between 0-6 months old. A baby will literally double in size within 6 months and if you read the paragraph above, protein will be a major necessity for that growth and cell and tissue repair. Guess how much protein is in a diet of breast milk? Less than 5% of the calories (approx. 4.8%) are actually protein. An average American eats a diet of 16-19% protein and approximately 54% of the American population is considered clinically obese. I’m not saying that is the exact cause, but we can also look at other chronic diseases and begin to see the trends.

For the HCG Diet program, the fear is that you are not getting enough calories at all to sustain the body. And we definitely debunked that myth with Squashing The 500 Calorie Myth and so the next complaint I get is that there isn’t enough protein in the HCG drops diet. Of the calories consumed via the typical 500 Calorie HCG diet within this program, approximately 50-60% of them are protein. Combining that with the amount of fat calories moving through your system which will definitely have some proteins or amino acids within the released nutrients, I believe that the overall protein percentage within the body during use of the HCG Drops would be 22-26% of the calories. Is there enough protein in the diet now? Yes, of course there is.

Why then, do we get so mesmerized when the “HCG Diet naysayers” decide to poke in, without adequate studies, without using actual body composition testing and without really understanding homeopathic nutrition and supplements? I think the answer lies in controversy, we are usually pulled in and force-fed “stories” in the media that are controversial, negative and under-investigated. I go back to the facts each and every time and here they are:

1. Hundreds of thousands of people have had enormous success using the HCG Diet.

2. There is not one single true medical case that links the use of HCG Drops with any medical conditions.

3. The naysayers are usually, if not always, someone who has not personally done the HCG Diet program, but rather gives their hate-mail.

4. The results last. On average over a year span, HCG Diet Drops users only gain back about 2.5-3lbs. We usually do more than that by watching television and eating our Bon Bons.

5. Lastly, I tested hundreds of HCG Dieters and muscle mass remained, water weight increased (a huge positive for a country where over 70% of the population is chronically dehydrated) and fat mass decreased dramatically. See how many inches you lose on the HCG Diet.

The final result: Haters of the HCG Diet, you are debunked yet again!
